Olymp (2017)
Poetry and sound project, a collaborative work with Hector Mavridis (voice) and Costis Drygianakis (sound composition).
For the poetry performance at the 1st International Forum of Performance Art, that took place in Drama, Greece, September 2019, Olymp was experienced in the role of an atmosphere. In the poetry performance, Olymp was presented as a language and the language as a voice and a material.
Originally, "Olymp" was a poem, carved in a dreamlike landscape, then it was transformed into an experimental audio project, and later it was given the role of an atmosphere - the mountain where the (un)familiar voices and sounds are echoing. The reading in the oneiric atmosphere was prose and poetry by various authors, read in Macedonian, with an idea that the words should be felt and therefore understood.
One specific analysis was interesting to me; where the performance was seen as an act in four parts. The first and the second part refer to the difference in the voice which, from the seemingly "radiophonic proclamation", turns into a gentle voice through the verses of a love poem. The third part is the "end of the words" seen in the pile of crumpled papers on the floor. The fourth element is catharsis, experienced in the bright light piercing through the completely dark room.
